Upholstery Cleaning in London, ON

Gentle, deep steam cleaning for sofas, sectionals, and chairs that lifts body oils, odours, and stains while protecting delicate fabrics.

What you get

Upholstery Cleaning done right

Sofas, sectionals, and chairs soak up body oils, spills, and everyday odours that dull the fabric over time. Our gentle steam cleaning lifts that build-up from deep in the cushions and weave while protecting delicate materials, so your furniture looks brighter, feels fresher, and lasts longer. We assess each fabric first and use eco-friendly solutions that are safe around kids and pets.

Worth knowing

Why furniture needs a different approach than floors

A carpet has one job and one construction. A sofa might have four different materials in it: the deck under the cushions, the cushion covers, the arms, and the back panel, sometimes in different fabrics and often with different amounts of wear. On top of that, furniture collects something carpet mostly doesn't, which is body oil. That's what turns the headrest and the arms darker than the rest of the piece long before anything gets spilled on it.

We check the fabric before anything else

Upholstery usually carries a cleaning code on a tag under the cushions or beneath the frame, and it tells you what the manufacturer says the fabric can take. It matters because the same method that's right for a hard-wearing synthetic weave can be wrong for something delicate. That check is the first thing we do, which is why we assess each piece rather than treating every sofa the same.

Body oils, not just spills

The darkening you see on armrests and headrests is oil from skin and hair transferred over months of ordinary use. It builds up gradually enough that people stop noticing until it's lifted and they see the contrast. Steam is what breaks that down, because oil doesn't respond to plain water and scrubbing at it just works it deeper into the weave.

Drying furniture properly

Cushions get stood on edge to dry rather than laid flat, so air reaches both faces at once instead of trapping moisture against the deck. It looks odd for a few hours and it roughly halves the drying time. Same principle as carpet: airflow does the work. Leave the cushions as we set them until they're dry to the touch on both sides.

Upholstery Cleaning FAQs

Common upholstery cleaning questions

Can you clean mattresses?+

Mattresses are upholstery as far as the work goes, and they collect the same body oils and dust that a sofa does. Ask when you book so we can plan the time, and be aware a mattress needs a good stretch of drying with airflow before it's slept on, so it's not a job to book for late in the evening.

Do you clean leather?+

Ask us before you book. Leather is a different material with a different process from the fabric upholstery described here, so we'd rather tell you honestly on the phone than have you expect something on the day. Send a photo if that's easier.

Will the colour come out or change?+

That's exactly what the fabric assessment at the start is for. Certain dyes and certain older fabrics carry a real risk, and where we see one we'll test an out-of-sight area first and tell you what we found before going further. If we think a piece shouldn't be cleaned, we'll say so rather than risk it.

How long does a sofa take?+

Far less than people expect. A standard three-seater is usually a fairly quick job, and a big sectional with several cushions takes longer mostly because of the number of surfaces rather than any single one being hard. When you ask for the quote, tell us the number of seats and whether there are separate back cushions.

Can you get rid of a smell in a sofa?+

Often yes, if the source is in the fabric and cushions, because extraction removes the material causing the smell rather than covering it. If something has soaked through into the foam underneath, that's harder and we'll tell you so honestly at the walkthrough rather than after taking payment.

Should I do the sofa and the carpet at the same time?+

It's the efficient way to do it. The equipment is already set up and running, so adding upholstery to a carpet booking is much less disruption than arranging a second visit. Mention everything you're considering when you ask for the quote and we'll price it together.
