Choosing a service

What you need, what it costs, and what the day looks like

Four services, one owner-operator, and the same professional-grade equipment on every job. Most people call us about carpet, then find out the same visit can take care of the sofa, the hallway runner, and the kitchen tile. Below is how to work out what you actually need, what a job involves from the quote to the dry time, and what makes hot-water extraction different from the machine you can rent at the hardware store.

Not sure which service you need?

Go by the surface, not the symptom. Wall-to-wall broadloom is carpet cleaning. Anything with cushions — sofas, sectionals, dining chairs, mattresses — is upholstery. A rug you could roll up and carry is area rug cleaning — cleaned in your home, or collected and returned if you'd rather nothing happen in your living room. Hard floors with grout lines between the tiles are tile and grout. If a room smells but looks fine, the smell is usually deeper in the fibre than a vacuum reaches, and that is exactly what extraction is for.

What hot-water extraction actually does

A vacuum pulls loose dirt off the top. Hot-water extraction pushes heated solution down into the pile, breaks the bond holding ground-in grit and oils to the fibre, and then pulls the whole lot back out under vacuum. The difference between our equipment and a rental unit is suction: a weak machine leaves most of the water behind, which is why rental jobs stay damp for days and often resoil faster than before. Ours leaves carpet damp rather than soaked, with most floors dry in four to eight hours.

How the quote works

Every quote is free and given before any work starts, and the number we give you is the number you pay. What moves it is the size of the job and the state it's in: how many rooms, whether stairs are involved, the fibre type, how much furniture needs moving, and how heavily soiled things are. That's why we don't publish a flat per-room rate — it would be wrong for half the homes we see. Tell us roughly what you've got and we'll give you a firm number. New customers get 10% off a first cleaning plus a free citrus deodorizer.

What the day looks like

We walk the space with you first and point out anything we think won't fully come out, so there are no surprises at the end. We move light furniture as we go and clean around anything large or fragile. All you need to have ready is a regular power outlet and somewhere to park out front — the equipment, water, and eco-friendly solutions all come with us. Booking runs 24/7 because an owner-operator can work around your schedule instead of a franchise dispatch window.

Service FAQs

Questions about the work itself

Can you do more than one service in the same visit?+

Yes, and it's the most common way we work. The equipment is already set up and the water is already hot, so adding the sofa or the hallway tile to a carpet booking is far less disruptive than booking two separate visits. Mention everything you're thinking about when you ask for the quote and we'll price it as one job.

How often should carpets and upholstery be professionally cleaned?+

It depends far more on the household than the calendar. A quiet home with no pets can go a good while between cleans; a house with kids, a dog, and a winter's worth of road salt tracked through the front hall needs it much sooner. A fair signal is when vacuuming stops making a visible difference in the traffic lanes, or when a room smells faintly even after cleaning. If you're unsure, ask us when we're there and we'll tell you honestly.

How is this different from renting a machine myself?+

Mostly extraction power and heat. Rental units put water down well enough but can't pull it back out, so the dirt gets pushed deeper and the carpet stays wet long enough to smell. We use commercial equipment, never hardware-store rentals, which is what makes the difference between damp-for-hours and soaked-for-days.

Is there anything you can't get out?+

Some things, yes. Dye stains, bleach damage, and certain very old set-in spots have permanently changed the fibre rather than just soiled it. We'd rather tell you that at the walkthrough than take your money and disappoint you, so we flag anything we're doubtful about before we start. Plenty of stains people assume are permanent do come out, so it's worth showing us.

Do I need to be home for the whole appointment?+

You need to be there at the start so we can walk the space together and agree the quote. After that it's up to you — plenty of customers head out and come back to a finished job. For area rugs there's even an option where you don't need to be around at all: we can collect the rug and bring it back once it's done.

What if I'm not happy with the result?+

Tell us and we'll make it right. That's the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and it applies to every job. Raise it while we're still there if you can, since it's much easier to re-treat a spot before the equipment is packed away.
